Explore the History of The Brown Palace
Public Tours
- Public tours are available every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 1:00 pm.
- All tours during the month of October are Ghost Tours, unless otherwise arranged.
- For overnight hotel guests, a $15.00 fee will be charged to your room.
- For general public attendees, the fee is $25.00 and can be paid in the Brown Palace Coffee Shop or at Front Desk.
- Reservations are highly recommended as space is limited. Please contact our hotel Concierge at ext. 3404 or email concierge@brownpalace.com to reserve.
Private Tours
- Private tours are offered Monday – Saturday, between the hours of 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, contingent upon our tour guides’ availability
- Private tours can accommodate parties of 1-14 people
- Please schedule all private tours at least one week in advance
- Private tours are $90 for 1-3 people and $30 per person for additional people beyond 3
- We recommend our general hotel history tour for all first-time tour guests
- Guests already familiar with the general history of The Brown Palace may choose from several themed tours, including Enduring Spirits (Ghost), Affairs of the Heart, Presidential Visits, Ladies of The Brown, or custom designed tours

- All Tour Guests will receive a 15% Off Food & Beverage Voucher, valid in any of our dine & drink venues
*Parties more than 14 or after hours can occasionally be accommodated. Please contact the historian to discuss.
**$5 from each private tour admission goes to The Brown Palace Archives Fund for the preservation of historical hotel treasures.
About Our Historian
Debra Faulkner has served as The Brown Palace Hotel & Spa’s official historian and archivist since 2008. Faulkner’s University of Colorado degrees in Education, History, and teaching experience at Metropolitan State University serves her well in her duties. Debra handles it all – from conducting tours, presenting programs, to creating displays, researching historical inquiries, and safeguarding artifacts. Faulkner is the author/co-author of nine books on Colorado history, including Ladies of The Brown (The History Press) and Henry’s Denver Palace (Filter Press Books).
